Goals:
The Office is open in order to satisfy the public’s needs to keep up with the trends of European politics and the legislative process with an eye on accurate adaptation of Bulgarian society, municipalities and regions to the new circumstances and competitiveness after Bulgarian accession in the EU.
The Office will be one of the instruments for municipalities’ and regions’ informative provision supporting local economic development and improving governing structures and models.
The Office will help to attract public and private investments to Bulgaria.
The Office will increase the municipalities’ and regions’ opportunities of effective EU funds assimilation.
The Office will be a cultural bridge in order to modernize the actual models of political, governing, business and public cultures.
Mission:
The mission of this Office is: Based on informative and effective communication to build ground for Bulgarian society to act as a responsible and competitive European Union member while taking advantage of the existing opportunities after EU accession.
Departments & Functions
Public diplomacy Department
- Serving as effective communicator between the Citizens of Bulgaria and the Citizens of European Union Member States
- Serving as effective communicator between European and Bulgarian institutions while new European policies are to be implemented or positions of extreme interest of European community are to be formed
- Providing Bulgarian municipalities & regions, institutions, organizations and citizens with technical and logistical support in Brussels,
- Building network for effective communication with European institutions
- Studying new governmental practices and models,
- Making proposals for improvement of the actual governmental models and creating opportunities for experience exchange,
- Helping Bulgarian delegations and representatives participating in governmental, non-governmental, scientific, business and cultural forums, exhibitions, etc. in Brussels,
- Assisting Bulgarian applicants for internship in EU institutions
- Assisting Bulgarian media in order to communicate more effectively with the European institutions and providing media with the actual information collected by the Office (issues debated in EU institutions, trends and analysis, which would provide accurate information and should help Bulgarian society to make accurate decisions at every level).
Regional Development & European Projects Management Department
- Consulting Bulgarian municipalities & regions in regional and local policy building & implementation
- Consulting Bulgarian institutions and organizations looking for technical and logistical support regarding EU projects management
- Consulting foreign investors interested in participation in Bulgarian regional programs for development
- Consulting foreign investors interested in Bulgarian market
- Consulting Bulgarian business organizations searching for new European partners, know - how and experience exchange in the business and technological transfer fields
- Performing market surveys and analysis
Environment & Ecology & Energy Department
- Providing full support to municipalities & regions in order to adapt to the new EU energy policies
- Organizing seminars, conferences, public diplomacy events designed to educate Bulgarian public and business with technologies, good practices and know – how for using alternative energy sources
- Building data base and actual network from EU leading project management companies in the field of alternative energy sources, producers of such equipment and financial institutions, which network will be offered to Bulgarian investors for use
- Providing full support to Bulgarian investors interested in alterative energy sources projects
- Providing full support to foreign investors interested in building in Bulgaria alternative energy sources plants
